Fee Schedule

Standard Mediation Session Or Arbitration Hearing

Our standard fee for a mediation session or arbitration hearing before one MDRS neutral of up to two hours is $495.00 per party.  If more time than two hours is required for a mediation session or arbitration hearing, each additional hour of service will be billed at $185.00 per hour for each party. Such additional charges include any necessary review of documents by the neutral (s).  If requesting a full day arbitration or mediation  the fee will be $1350.00 per party.  All fees are payable in advance of the scheduled mediation session or arbitration hearing.

Three Member Panel Arbitration Hearing

Where the parties chose to have their dispute heard by a panel of three arbitrators, our fee for an arbitration hearing of up to two hours is $1000.00 per party.  If more time than two hours is required, each additional hour of service will be billed at $350.00 per hour for each party.  Such additional charges include any necessary review of documents by the neutral (s).  All fees are payable in advance of the scheduled arbitration hearing.

Small Claims Mediation Session or Arbitration Hearing

Where the amount in controversy between the parties is less than $7500.00, the basic fee for a mediation session or arbitration hearing for up to two hours is $350.00 per party.  If the mediation session or arbitration hearing requires more than two hours, each additional hour of service will be billed at $135.00 per hour per party for each session.   Such additional charges include any necessary review of documents by the neutral (s).

Postponement And Cancellation Fees

Postponement and cancellation fees are applicable beginning when a matter has been confirmed to the parties for session, in writing, via facsimile and/or regular mail.

For Standard Sessions

Postponements within 15 business days from the scheduled session are billed $250, and postponements more than 15 business days from the scheduled session are billed $100.  All postponement fees are billed to the party requesting postponement.

In the event that a session is cancelled and not rescheduled within 15 business days of the scheduled session, the full standard hearing fee of $495 is payable by each party.  Cancellations more than 15 business days from the scheduled session are billed at 50% of the standard hearing fee ($247.50), payable by each party.  This applies to both settled and unsettled cases.

For Full Day Sessions

The same postponement rules apply as for standard sessions, with the fees being $500 (within 15 business days) and $250 (more than 15 business days) respectively, billed to the party requesting postponement.

The same cancellation rules apply as for standard sessions, with the fees being $750 (cancellation within 15 business days) and $500 (cancellation more than 15 business days) respectively, payable by each party.

Travel Fees

Travel time for sessions held outside of the Metro Boston and North Shore area is billed at $125.00 per hour for Attorney Brian Jerome.

Travel time for panel members is billed at various rates per agreement; please inquire for neutral travel rates.
