Associate Justice of the Superior Court, Commonwealth of Massachusetts (1985 to 1998); First Assistant District Attorney, Norfolk District Court, Commonwealth of Massachusetts (1976-1985); Special Assistant Attorney General to Massachusetts Attorney General Francis Bellotti (1980-1985); Private Practice -  Civil Matters (1967-1975); Massachusetts Defenders Committee (1967-1975); Claims Manager and Defense Counsel Hartford Accident and Indemnity Company Eastern Massachusetts (1964-1975).

OTHER PROFFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE and ASSOCIATIONS: Current member of Massachusetts Bar Association, Boston Bar Association, Massachusetts Judicial Conference, American Trial Lawyers, and the National Association of Judges. Former member of Norfolk County Bar Association, Middlesex County Bar Association. National District Attorney's Association, and the Massachusetts trial Lawyers Association. Prior to appointment as Associate Justice, served as field instructor in the Harvard Law School Clinical Program supervision senior law students trying cases in the District Courts and Six Person Jury Sessions. Lectured and served as a panelist for numerous educational programs sponsored by the Massachusetts Bar Association, Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Inc., and the Massachusetts Superior Court.
